That Vintage Shop

I love the smell of vintage shops, it's like going into a hidden den with secret treasures, you want to touch everything and breathe the atmosphere in!

I bought this 80's jacket from this gorgeous little shop 'That Vintage Shop' and I'm amazed that it's the only thing I walked away with! I wanted to buy everything!

This rabbit fur jacket is extravagant yet beautiful and has had so much care put into the making of it, every last detail is perfect, even the lining!  And the shop assistants are so friendly and they even put a little packet of love hearts in the bag!

  8. Oh my goodness I think I may have found my new favourite website! I love the feeling of finding a good vintage piece that you absolutely fall in love with. I love the details of your cardigan especially the swirls at the front. And how nice of the assistant to give you a bag of hearts! Hurrah for lovely assistants who make shopping all the more fun!

I also noticed that you bought a keyborad bag - oh my, I saw them all over the museum/gallery stores when I was in America and now am kicking myself that I did not buy one - it looks so fun! Oh well, another time.

Ah, and just because I haven't made my comment long enough (apologies) I also noticed that you went to an exhibition on the Ballet Russes - we have one here in Australia (at the NGA in Canberra) which I am debating about travelling to see. I know the exhibitions would not be completely the same, but would you recommend going, if it meant a few hours on a train there and back?

    All the best,

  20. Congrats on your find. Vintage fur is the best when it's in good condition! I love the style of older fur jackets and coats so much more than the ones they're churning out now.

  26. I like the details. I'm always on the look out for a vintage fur. As a veggie it's massively fortunate that I can rock a retro look without buying fur new from the industry.

  37. If I had the choice, I would happily live in either a vintage shop or a bookshop. You're right - the smell as you enter is part of the magic. I love really disorganised rural ones too, as they often yield the most unexpected jewels! That is such an eyecatching jacket - the fur looks incredibly soft.
