On the last day of our holiday in France, I spent the day in Paris with Nick. We walked around the couldn't-be-anywhere-but-Paris streets, visited the Georges Pompidou Centre and took photos by Notre Dame. Then we saw the love locks as we were walking over the bridge- I'd heard about them before but never actually seen them in real life! They had the sweetest messages engraved on them or written in Sharpie (!) and they completely covered the railings of the bridge. It was absolutely beautiful!
We only had a few hours in Paris before we had to catch our train, but I think we made the most of it, and even had time for a delicious galette. If you were in Paris for a day, what would you do?
How lovely! I've always wanted to visit Paris, though I suppose most girls these days do... Maybe someday in the future. No, I take that back. Definitely someday in the future ;) And that is so neat about the love locks. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI think for someone who's in Paris for 1 or 2 days, the hop-on hop-off bus is the best option, for the main touristic points. Or just have coffees and croissants all day long in all the nice terasses ;)
ReplyDeleteI think I would follow in your footsteps :) I live that live kick bridge I want to go there myself ;)

Love the first picture!
ReplyDeleteI have also seen Nici de Saint Phalles figures in Paris - they are fantstiske and I love them so much that I went to Italy and saw her Tarot garden. Never have I seen such gardens. And you look happy :)
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely! I like how you described the streets as "couldn't-be-anywhere-but-Paris." It's completely true. I've always wanted to see the bridge with the love locks. I plan on studying abroad in Paris next summer, so this post is definitely getting me excited! x

I'm so envious of your Paris excursion! Looks like you had great fun. Fab photographs too! If I were in Paris for a day, I'd spend the entire time spotting chic Parisian women and sketching them and endeavouring to unearth what it is that makes quintessential Parisian style (and asking for style tips too!:D)
