I feel like I've gotten a little lost with this blog recently, it's swerved off path a little, and I'm not quite sure where it's going. Do you ever get that feeling? I was reading Elsie's post this morning. She wrote about learning when to adapt, when to quit and when to evolve. I certainly don't want to quit. I've loved writing this blog, and its amazing seeing how it has changed over time, and how I've changed too, from my writing to my style to my tastes. It has been so lovely reading your wonderful comments and interacting with you, too. So that leaves me with the choice to adapt or evolve. I'm going to choose to evolve. I've decided to take a mini break from blogging, a little holiday, and come back with (fingers crossed) a brand new blog design and a more focused approach. Everything is a bit crazy at the moment, starting a new term and whatnot, so I think it's a good plan until I get everything up and running again properly.
Until then, here are a few photos I took over New Years. We woke up late and as we groggily walked round the house with our boiling cups of tea, I suddenly noticed that the light from the window made the steam very visible, and created beautiful patterns. I ran upstairs, suddenly wide awake, and ran back down in time to catch the last of the curving, twisting steam. I love the way the light bounced off all the surfaces, especially Molly's face.
A big thank you to a sleepy Molly for being my beautiful model, and for being so obliging when all she really wanted was to go and play monopoly with her cup of tea. The light was just too pretty, I couldn't pass up the opportunity!

Kate, I think it's normal to feel that way with a blog, and of course, adapting or evolving are good plans (as is taking a break) I went through about three months when i was too busy with work and too depressed in general to blog, but i came out of it and kept feeding off other people's amazing blogs (like your) for inspiration... i hope you enjoy your mini break and i can't wait to see what you have when you come back :D
